FULL DAY MONDAY FALLS AND ITAIPU DAM

Daily Service – Full Day Tour
Departure from your hotel to the bus terminal and board to Ciudad del Este. Arrival and time for breakfast (not included). Next, transfer to the city of Presidente Franco (10 km) to visit the Monday Falls, with a wonderful panoramic view of these water falls 45 meters high and approximately 120 meters wide, which are truly impressive. The name “Monday” (pronounced “mon-da-ugh”) comes from the Guarani language and means: “stolen river.” In the afternoon we will visit the Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant, the largest dam in South America, and the largest in the world in terms of production of clean and renewable energy, with more power than 10 nuclear power plants. After the tour, departure at 6:30 p.m. on a regular bus to Asunción. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.
 
Observation: This package must leave with the bus at 01:30 a.m. and must return with the 6:30 p.m. bus on the same day. Does not include food service.

Daily service – Approximate duration 3 hours

Departure from the hotel to do a complete tour of the city of Asunción, a city with a picturesque combination of modern and colonial architecture, including the city center and residential areas.

We will visit: The Independence House., The Cathedral.,The Government Palace. The Railway Station, visiting the oldest steam locomotive in South America, the National Pantheon of Heroes, where the remains of the greatest heroes of the History of Paraguay lie. Avenida Mariscal López, also known as the Embassy Avenue. Ending at the popular La Recova artisan market. After the visit, return to your hotel.

YPACARAI LAKE AND ARTISANS VILLAGE

Daily service – Approximate duration 5 hours

This excursion includes a visit to the artisan village of Luque, with its rustic factories of gold and silver jewelry made in filigree.
Then, a visit to the artisan city of Aregua, an old summer village that still maintains its flavor of the early twentieth century, on the shores of famous lake “Lago Ypacarai”, where potteries and craft centers exhibit their works all year.
Later, we will visit the city of San Bernardino, where Lago Ypacaraí is located, the current center of summer for the Paraguayans.
We will then continue to Itauguá, home of the famous Ñandutí, handmade lace whose design is based on the spider webs, in the tour you can buy handicrafts such as tablecloths, placemats, hammocks, bedspreads and other products of Paraguayan crafts.
After the visit, return to Asunción.

The combination of craftsmanship, culture, history and nature will make this excursion an unforgettable and pleasant experience.

On our tour we will visit the artisan city of Itá, traditionally known for the manufacture of the “Gallinita de la suerte”, later we will visit the church of Yaguarón, an 18th century Franciscan temple and we will continue towards the Paraguarí mountain ranges.

 

In Paraguarí, a visit to the historical city of Piribebuy, continuing to the Basilica of Caacupé, where the Cathedral of the Patron Saint of all Paraguayans, the Virgen de Caacupé (Virgin of Caacupé).

After the arrival in San Bernardino, the country’s main summer resort, located on the shores of the famous lake “Lago Ypacaraí”. Lunch included (drinks not included).

In the afternoon, we will return to Asuncion, visiting the city of Itauguá, famous for its handicraft in textiles where the imitation of the spider web (ñanduti) stands out.

After the visit, return to Asunción.

Departure from your hotel to the bus terminal and board for Ciudad del Este.Arrival and time for breakfast (not included). Then we will pass to the Brazilian City of Foz de Iguazú through the Puente de la Amistad (Friendship Bridge) to visit the famous “Cataratas del Iguazú” (Iguazu Falls) on the Brazilian side (ticket to the National Park is not included). There we will enjoy the majestic waterfalls, considered one of the natural wonders of the South American region.

After this visit, free time for lunch (not included). Back to Ciudad del Este, we will visit Itaipú, the largest hydroelectric dam in the world in production of renewable and clean energy. Finished the tour, departure at 18:30 hs by regular bus to Asunción. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.
Observation: This package must leave with the bus at 01:30 hs and must return with the bus at 6:30 p.m. on the same day. Does not include food service or entrance to the National Park of Waterfalls.

Departure from your hotel, to go to the bus terminal and embark for the city of Encarnación. We will arrive and there will be time for breakfast (not included).A visit to the Jesuit Ruins of Trinidad del Paraná and Jesus de Tavarangue.

Trinidad is one of the most interesting and suggestive ruins among all. Its main architects were the religious Juan Bautista Prímoli, of Milan and the Catalan José Grimau. Not completely finished, this mission had one of the largest and most beautiful churches of all missions, according to descriptions of travelers of the time.

Jesus de Tavarangue; almost in front of Trinidad, is this reduction that unfortunately did not get to be finished due to the expulsion of the Jesuits from Paraguay. Its architectural design was totally different from the others, in Moorish style, unique in all the reductions.

Both declared Universal Patrimony of Humanity in 1993 by UNESCO. At the end of this visit, we will transfer back to Encarnación, free afternoon and, at the indicated time, transfer to take the bus to Asunción.   Arrival at the bus terminal and transfer to your hotel.

 

Observation: for the fulfillment of this program you must leave with the bus at 00:30 hs and return with the bus at 6:00 p.m.

Continue to the Central Gallery, where the latest technology can be acquired. We will continue to Shopping del Sol and Paseo la Galería Shopping, famous for their international brands. During this tour you will be accompanied by a guide to recommend, translate and save purchases in a private vehicle. At the end of the tour, passengers will have the option to return to the hotel or stay at Shopping del Sol to continue shopping, returning on their own.

There we can enjoy a day of fun with a lot of adrenaline and total security, with the support of specialized instructors and state-of-the-art equipment with international certification in the exclusive TAPÉ SAINGÓ (in Guarani: hanging road); a set of bahianas and hanging bridges installed next to the forest, ending in an amazing stretch of zip line 105 meters long, through streams, waterfalls, lush forests, gorges covered with mosses, ferns, maidenhairs and a descent in rappel by a natural wall of 30 meters. (Enabled for people over 10 years old). After the adventure, transfer to a restaurant to enjoy lunch (not included) and return to the hotel.

Visit to Atyra

Daily service – approximate a duration of 7 hours

Early departure from your hotel to the city of Atyra, located about 60 km from Asunción, on the Altos mountain range. Declared “Ecological Capital of Paraguay”, Atyra is a city rich in natural and geological beauties. We will visit its artisan market, where leather works stand out, continuing the visit to the Marianela Complex, built by the Redemptorist congregation and with the help of Italians architecs from Verona, making it a special place to visit and marvel at its lines. We will finish the tour enjoying lunch with a spectacular view of nature. Return to Asunción.
